Camping in Lemele, the Netherlands

My trusty Durston X-Mid Solid. It’s pretty solid!

I went camping last weekend with two of my friends. Another friend came to visit us for an evening, too. Great fun!

The last time I went, it was very windy, and quite cold. It was uncomfortable to sit outside, and even inside, I couldn’t get my feet warm despite wearing appropriate base layers and socks.

This time was a lot more comfortable, with temperatures of around 8ºC at night.

Walking around was nice, with the campgrounds sitting right alongside several walking routes. We walked for about 25km this weekend, spread over two days.

A common set-up.

Tarps really are useful. They take very little space, but fold out to become a nice and dry outdoor area. Always bring a tarp! 😌

A 9.21km morning walk through the Lemelerberg area.

One of several routes we walked. It’s a pretty nice area to walk in, and we saw quite a number of trail runners, too. There’s a fair bit of height difference, making for a good workout. I kind of regretted not bringing my running shoes!
